Donovan Blake, FOH for King’s X and the Dirty Dog on the StudioLive 32.4.2AI digital mixer

Donovan Blake knows what he’s doing. He’s charged with running front of house for heavy rock stalwarts King’s X, and has chosen the StudioLive 32.4.2AI as the right tool for the job—and his other job. Blake’s also got a trusty StudioLive 32.4.2AI set up for running live sound at Austin’s Dirty Dog on—where else—6th street.

Here’s why, straight from the man himself.

Northern Sound and Light StudioLive 32.4.2AI Walkthrough

The kind geniuses over at Northern Sound and Light recently got their mitts on a StudioLive 32.4.2AI and cranked out this great overview video. This is an excellent primer for anyone who is considering getting a new StudioLive AI digital mixer and would benefit from a quick feature rundown.

Big thanks to Northern Sound and Light for their support!

StudioLive 32.4.2AI Broadens Shaggy Monitoring Options

Small Town Audio Resources in Redway, CA received their new PreSonus StudioLive 32.4.2 AI just in the nick of time for this performance by Grammy-winning reggae superstar Shaggy, pictured below. The mixer ran monitors during his performance at the Mateel Community Center. Having been a PreSonus StudioLive 24.4.2 user, the transition was effortless for engineers Rob Seifert Gage and Jim Fulton.

“For this Shaggy gig,” Rob says, “We chose the new StudioLive 32.4.2AI for its ease of operation and showtime reliability. We need about 12-14 monitor mixes, and it was effortless! In the past, we used two StudioLive 24.4.2s and would link them together, but we weren’t able to record all channels with that setup. With the StudioLive 32.4.2.AI, we get all the tracks and more—which is exactly what we were looking for in a desk .”

Happy Halloween!

Something is spooky in the state of Louisiana. Clearly, there are forces at work here beyond the comprehension of mere mortals. What could it be? What’s hiding from us?

I suppose we will know soon, because whatever IT is… it doesn’t seem to want to stay hidden for long.

Sonic Sense Compares StudioLive 32.4.2AI to the 24.4.2

Sonic Sense Pro Audio is SO GOOD to us.

In this new video, they open with a nice breakdown of the workflow and feature upgrades in the new StudioLive 32.2.4AI as compared to the original StudioLive 24.4.2. They touch on Active Integration, computer-free wireless connectivity, Capture 2.1, Mute Groups, Scenes, Fat Channel updates, and more.

But they don’t stop there. They run a multi-track recording from the FoxField Four through BOTH mixers, and provide an A/B test of the stereo mix from both mixers, so you can hear the sonic improvements in the StudioLive 32.4.2AI for yourself!

Great work, guys, and thanks for your support!
