MIXING is MASTERING!
It is? Really?
It is for Justin! He’s experienced a little revelation of late. Thanks to the Studio One’s Project page, the once-clear line between mixing and mastering processes has started to blur. He has kindly decided to share his secrets—with YOU!
John Mlynczak, Education Market Manager for PreSonus, shows us some of the basics of running live sound AND recording a school jazz band with the AudioBox 1818VSL. He shares his channel breakdown and monitoring setup.
With the AudioBox 1818VSL, you can track the entire band, and send students their own parts for study—or whatever submix you feel is best!
Is that a StudioLive 24.4.2 I see in the background? Probably.
Check out more of these over at YouTube!
Thanks to Amahl from Champion Sound for these great shots of the winners from their season finale!
Retro5pect (Dallas, TX) and Cloud Stryfe (New Orleans, LA) tied for first place, with each receiving a pair of the brand-new PreSonus Eris E5 monitors! Eduk8 (Baton Rouge, LA) took third place and walked away with a set of PreSonus HD7 headphones. B. Brooks (Baton Rouge, LA) took fourth place.

[This just in from Serin Hong, Assistant Manager at Sama Sound, our hardworking distributor in Korea!]
Hello PreSonus, this is Serin. How is everything going with you?
We successfully finished our Studio One seminar series, with a new class on every Saturday for the last six weeks. It went from Feb. 16 to Mar. 23, and everyone including myself really enjoyed all the seminars. We had different subjects for each seminar, and all the professional presenters brought and shared their knowledge and experience with Studio One.
We give you a massive thumbs up! What a great software. Thank you all at PreSonus. You guys are amazing.
The music below was the class material of the last class with Hyunjoon Lee. All the tracks are MIDI and sequenced in Studio One.
Join steadyb as he shows you advanced features of Melodyne, integrated into Studio One Professional 2. He will address converting audio to MIDI, as well as Melodyne’s tried-and-true pitch correction for those troublesome “singers.”
Tune in and win; we’ll give away free t-shirts.
