#NAMM2015 Spotlight: Ace Baker

aceAce Baker brings his StudioLive on the road with supergroup Chickenfoot, which as far as I’m concerned makes him a superengineer. A couple years back, he used a classic StudioLive 24.4.2 to record every show of Chickenfoot’s tour. He’s been the first-call soundman of choice for Tower of Power as well. As such, Ace is appropriately monikered, and will demonstrate the latest developments in cascading technology of the StudioLive AI series—doubtlessly alongside his unique flavor of humor for which he is almost as well-known.

Ace presents at the PreSonus booth every day of the show at 4:00-4:45, demonstrating the cascading technology of the StudioLive AI mixers.

#NAMM2015 Spotlight: @katelynbenton

katelyn

Award-winning singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, session musician and Berklee graduate Katelyn Benton is a vet of the PreSonus NAMM stage. This time around she’ll be lending her velvet voice and instrumental prowess to demonstrate the potential of the AudioBox i-Series interfaces. If anyone knows DIY recording and production, it’s Katelyn—her EP Once was self-recorded and independently released in 2009. That was after winning Best Original Song in the World Championship of Performing Arts.

A monster talent, and we’re stronger for having her in our corner. She performs at the booth at 3:00-3:45 on Thursday and Friday, demoing the AudioBox i-series interfaces.

#NAMM2015 Artist: @NothingMoreRock

Ubertight heavy prog-rockers Nothing More are currently on the Juggernaut Tour with Periphery, and are the first band to tour with a StudioLive RM16AI, subjecting to the rigors of the road and rock stardom. So far, it’s holding up great while providing critical backing tracks and effects to their bombastic, shirtless live show. Fortunately for you, their breakneck tour schedule includes a stop at our NAMM booth on Saturday at 3 p.m. With these guys performing, we will probably have to bribe the sound police to keep our spot in Hall B next year.

AES_137th_Register-300x250-static

Hey there, #TeamPreSonus, we figure you’re likely a musician, and that means you are probably a little used to getting into parties for free. It never gets old, right? Right. So, in keeping with what makes you comfortable, we’d like to give you and your little buddies a FREE PASS to the 137th Audio Engineering Society International Convention in Los Angeles. It runs Oct. 9-12, 2014.

What’s AES 137? Oh, only the biggest, best, pow-wow of sonic bigwiggery to ever an America.  If you’re up for rubbing elbows with Craig Anderton and/or hailing a taxi with Alan Parsons, this is the show for you. Furthermore, there’s a quarter-tonne of exhibits, clinics, talks, and showcases on anything Audio Engineering-related, including but not limited to:

  • Networked Audio
  • Broadcast and Streaming
  • Game Audio
  • Live Sound Production
  • Product Design
  • Re-evaluating the role of the kazoo in the post-dubstep 21st Century
  • Recording and Production
  • Sound for Picture

I mean, really. Click here to take a look at the extensive presenter list. It’s like some hackers got Quincy Jones’ contacts list off of iCloud and just pressed CTRL+C, CTRL+V.

New Announcements from #InfoComm 2014 [VIDEO]

We hauled some video hardware down to Vegas for InfoComm and shot some vids at the booth. If you couldn’t tune in to PreSonus LIVE for this coverage, you can catch it all below! Learn a bit about StudioLive AI Mixer Cascading, Dante, and the latest member of the PreSonus fam’—WorxAudio!

While you’re at it, here’s a the full press releases from our InfoComm 2014 announcements.

Free PreSonus Mixing Classes and More at #InfoComm, Las Vegas through Friday

How utterly proper that the tech industry heads down to Las Vegas in early summer to share their hottest news. See, the InfoComm show is to all things A/V what NAMM is to music. It’s not just about PA speakers and mixers, there are 3D 4K HD TVs, weird new computers, and nary a stringed instrument in sight around here.

So, what the heck are we doing here, anyhow? A lot. The reason we fit in at InfoComm this year—even better than years past—is because we’re stepping up our live sound game in a major way—more on that later. But in the meantime, the best way to answer this question is to click here for your free ticket, and then come and join us. Here’s what we have going on, and where to find it.

First of all, Doug Gould of WorshipMD will be giving FREE mixing instructions at The Technologies for Worship Pavilion, booth C4846. Doug has been a good friend to PreSonus for some time now, and his videos are among the most-watched on our YouTube channel. Come learn a thing or two from the man in person! Doug presents at the following times:

  • Wednesday: 10 am, 1 pm, 3 pm
  • Thursday: 10 am, 12 pm, 1 pm, 3 pm
  • Friday: 10 am, 1 pm

You can get the details on all of the new members of the PreSonus fam first-hand in our Demo Room, N104. Here’s a schedule:

  • Tuesday: 12 pm (Rehearse), 2 pm (Rehearse), 4 pm (Rep/Distributor Meeting)
  • Wednesday: 10 am, 12 pm, 2 pm, 4 pm
  • Thursday : 10 am, 12 pm, 2 pm, 4 pm
  • Friday: 12 pm, 2 pm, 4 pm

By the way—Attend a StudioLive AI PA & Worx PA Speaker Demonstration and get a FREE Active Integration Universal USB Adaptor, a $19.99 value!

Who wants free tickets to InfoComm? YOU DO!

That’s right! We’re offering FREE TICKETS to anyone who wants to attend the InfoComm show in La$ Vega$. For flights and hotel, you’re on your own. All you have to do is click here to get your ticket.

The InfoComm exhibition, June 18-20, is where A/V manufacturers from the world over all converge on the strip, and bring their latest and greatest. It’s where new products get announced and incredible new technologies are showcased. It’s not quite as loud as NAMM, but there is a constant clattering din produced by 30,000 jaws hitting the ground at once when folks get a look at some new curved 3D television or food replicator.

We’ve got something brewing for InfoComm ourselves, BTW. Stay tuned to our website and social profiles, or just take us up on the offer and come visit us in person at booth C11341.
