“I literally stopped using Logic.” RecordingReview.com

As anyone who uses it knows, with Studio One the hits don’t stop. We just discovered this incredibly flattering, video-peppered review from Ruprect at Recording Review. In it, they state: (among other things)

“I literally stopped using Logic after spending maybe 2 hours with Studio One. Granted, I was excited about learning something new but the switch was surprisingly painless. Fast forward a few months and I’m faster with Studio One than I ever was with Logic. The main reason is that simple tasks I perform numerous times in every mix are streamlined a little.”

Big thanks are due to the Recording Review crew. Their website is chock-full of many other reviews that you should read as well, and they also offer a number of great articles on all elements of the audio recording process. Check ’em out.

Powerhouse Producer Sak Pase Chooses Studio One for New EP

The Audio Production Network just published an interview with top-shelf producer Sak Pase, AKA Sham Joseph, where he discusses his work on Jake Troth’s new EP, Double Black Diamond. Sak has production credits among several A-list artists, including but not limited to Kanye West, Jay-Z and Rhianna.
For the Jake Troth project, Sak made the switch to Studio One 2.6 Professional. This EP is not Sak’s first rodeo—he’s used Pro Tools, Logic, and Cubase in the past, and seems to have settled on his weapon of choice. Sak says:
“Genuinely, the user interface is absolutely amazing; if you are a Logic user, the transition is so easy – there is no learning curve at all. I love how it sounds, and you can do some amazing thing with the editing of audio. It’s a very exciting program; whenever you have ideas, you can just shoot it open and there is a forum where you have all these ideas and you can see your ideas help shape the program, which is very interesting.”

Glowing ADL 700 Review from Amazona.de, with Audio Samples

This kind review of our latest golden boy,the ADL 700 tube mic preamp, comes to us from the informed masterminds at Amazona.de. Naturally, this one is written with the German-speaking crowd in mind. If you don’t speak German but DO have Chrome installed, you’ve got a translator built right into your browser to help you out!

Amazona has gone a step above and beyond in this review by not only detailing all the nitty-gritty technical specs, but they’ve also included several audio demos of the ADL 700. Click here to read the review in full and hear it for yourself.

Roughly translated, you’ll find such laudatory praise as “The PreSonus ADL 700 is a professional device that costs less than it sounds. A suitable candidate to compliment a serious outboard collection. Sonically, a big thumbs up.”

#TeamPreSonus Spotlight: Ivan Muñoz!

PreSonus Artist Ivan Muñoz is known to many for the industrial stylings of Vigilante, but he has many other projects going on—and PreSonus is a factor in each of them!

Who are you, where are you, and what do you do?

Hi, I’m Musician/Producer/DJ Ivan Muñoz. I’m from Chile, but right now I’m living in France.
Currently I’m working with my three musical projects Vigilante (Industrial/Electro), Hopeless (Electronic/EDM), and Big Brother (Dubstep/Drum & Bass). I’m also doing some mixing, mastering and multimedia design with my company, Still Alive Studios.

How were you introduced to PreSonus?

I got introduced by some friends, at the time i was looking for a new audio interface for my live presentations some years ago. I test many brands, but PreSonus was my favorite option, because their interfaces are very robust, and their design work very well on the road.

What PreSonus software/hardware do you use and for what purpose?

I currently use a FireBox for my live presentations, and in my studio I use an AudioBox 44VSL.
About a year ago, I switched from my old DAW to Studio One Professional and so far it has been great.
Also, I started to use Nimbit to sell some of my music, like my last single, “It’s Our Time.”

What’s so great about PreSonus, anyhow?

I think the audio quality is awesome on the hardware and also the software. Sometimes is very hard to believe that you could get so good quality for such little price.

What’s the last big project that you worked on using PreSonus gear?

I produced “It’s Our Time” entirely in Studio One Professional and the result was great.
Listen for yourself!

Also, people can check out the first single, also created on Studio One, of my new project called BIG BROTHER, here:

What are you working on now—or next?

Everything! Right now with Vigilante, I’m working in my new album that will be called “Turning Point,” as well as putting a lot of time into Big Brother and Hopeless. Your readers can learn more about Vigilante, Big Brother and Hopeless at these links:

Sceptre Monitor First Impressions from Seth Waters / Interpose Productions

[This just in from Seth Waters of Interpose Productions!]
Hey PreSonus! I just got the speakers. Here is a pic of them in the control room, as well as my review.
So, I just got my PreSonus Sceptre S8‘s today and I think my brains leaked out all over my desk.

I upgraded from Yamaha HS8OMs. I can’t say that there is ANY coloration. The Sceptres revealed details in my old mixes that I used to wonder about. Since listening to them through these s8’s I was instantly able to pinpoint areas I could have made better.
I tried to find a spot in my control room where I couldn’t hear the stereo image and I couldn’t find one. I might never buy another studio monitor.  Thanks to PreSonus, I’ll be cleaning brain matter off my desk now.
